Addie was six years old this year and it was her second year showing goats. Her love for the animals continues to grow!  She worked very hard to improve her showmanship skills as well as learning to help groom the animals for show. Her educational display reflects her love of showing and was titled "Getting Ready For A Show." The display pictures were hand drawn by Addie to reflect the different phases of preparation for a show.

In addition to the trophies, ribbons, and good times, Addie made some great friends at the shows this year! Also, lots of life lessons were learned - the art of winning and losing; selling goats you love; helping birth babies; and burying some that did not survive. In summary, it was a great year spent with family and friends and doing things we love - together!

Addie and Judge Phil Myers pose in front of Addie's display. Mr. Myers evaluated the display for the Youth Achievement Points/Herdsman Program.  (This show did not have a youth showmanship class) 1st Place 0-3 Month old FB Bucks

Here Addie is pictured setting up her 2  1/2 month old buck,
"PLCF Addie's Knock'em Out John"

This was Knock'em Out John's first show and he was really nervous.

4th Place 3-6 month old Percentage Does

This shows Addie waiting while the judges talks about his placing. Addie and "PLCF Boston" earned fourth place in the 3-6 month old percentage does class.

Addie is setting up Nikki for show
2nd Place 0-3 Month old FB Does

Addie and "PLCF Addie's Sugarland Delight" placed 2nd in the 0-3 month old Full blood does class. This was Sugar's first show too. She misbehaved badly - even knocked mom down - so Daddy had to help some in the Championship class. Her twin brother Knock'em Out John won 1st place (I think it's because he behaved better)

16-20 Month Old FB Does

Addie and Nikki work well together, and although Nikki did not place at this show, she behaved wonderfully. Nikki has just moved up to the 16-20 month old does class (and she is a lot smaller than the rest of her class!)

OTHER WINS

4th Place
3-6 Month Old Bucks with
"PLCF Marshall Dillon"

Addie also exhibited "PLCF Little Brother" in the 3-6 month old class with help from Daddy. They did not place.

Mom had to help hold Marshall Dillon (as he is getting pretty big and strong and is harder for Addie to handle alone) and did not get any pictures of the bucks in the ring!
