About Us And Our Farm

Pine Log Creek Farms is a small, family-owned farm in Northeast Bartow County, Georgia. The farm is snuggled against the Pine Log Creek in the foothills of the Pine Log mountains. Our family is the fourth generation to live and farm here, although we are the first to have goats! In addition to our herd of Boer goats, We have a small flock of chickens that can only be described as over rated (and over fed) alarm clocks.

We discovered Boer Goats in 2003 when we took our daughter to the rodeo in Montgomery, Alabama. There was a Boer Goat show taking place that day and we stopped in to watch. At the time we were considering buying some market lambs for Addie, but when we saw her reaction to the goats we knew that goats were what we wanted. We began to research about goats by attending shows, clinics, goat field days, and visiting other farms in order to learn as much as we could. In December 2004, we bought our first registered Boer Goat, BZI Burdock (grandson to EGGSFile) from BZI Farms. The rest, as they say, is history. We now have between 30 and 40 registered 100% Full blood Boer goats.

We also started participating in shows in 2006. Showing is a lot of hard work, but the people are great - and so are the goats. It is a very family oriented atmosphere, and gives us lots of time to spend with our daughter and new friends, which makes all the hard work worthwhile.

In 2007, we redefined our herd to include only show stock and animals bred and raised on our farm. It will be a slow process, but worth it in the long run. We have started adding only the finest quality animals, including South African Genetics and Texas bred and raised animals.

We would love for you to visit our farm and talk with you about our goats, and if you ask nicely, you can even see those little chickens!

In July 2008, we added our newest addition, Lucy. Addie is very proud of her little sister and can't wait to teach her all about goats!

2009 promises to be a busy year with 2 little girls and their goats.

See you at the barn,
Shane & Angela Evans
