General Information
|
Due to the inclement
weather this week, try outs have been rescheduled to Saturday, January
22 from 3:00-5:00 PM.
The Diamond Sharks fast pitch softball team is being created to give
young players the opportunity to participate in competitive, tournament
play for an extended season. Players should be from Bartow County or
surrounding areas. Practice will take place at the Hamilton Crossing
Recreation Complex.
The team roster will
be held to 12 players, thus allowing each player maximum play time as
well as providing adequate coverage for the team.
The team will be 10 years of age and under.
Try outs for the team will take place on
Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 3:00-5:00 PM, Hamilton Crossing
Complex Field #9
Practices will begin late January. Some will be
indoors, others outdoors. Some practices will take place at the batting
cages too.

Expenses
|
At this time, we are estimating expenses based on
a 12 member roster. We are working to keep fees as low as possible.
Uniforms - $125 (to be paid to team** - this is
part of the team fee)
The first seven tournaments, team insurance and
registration fees will average about $225. All fees are simply the cost
for participation per player.
Additional fees will be based on tournament
fees and will be assessed to players March / April.
At this time, all fees are estimates and are
subject to change according to schedule and tournament fees. Players
will be given more in depth information at the information session.
Fees do not include food, travel, equipment, or
family related expenses.
Each player is responsible for her own
equipment to include glove, bat, helmet, batting gloves, and shoes.
Uniform fees and deposit will be due by January
31. Then a fee schedule will be set for February / March for remaining
balances for first half of season. Second half of season will be applied
at a later time.
At this time, we would like to find some
sponsors to help with team expenses. Let us know if you would like to be
a team sponsor. We will not be doing any fundraising events to offset
costs at this time.

Expectations |
Players can expect to be treated with respect;
to be coached in an educational, supportive, and encouraging manner;
learn to play softball in a competitive environment; and play softball
in competitive tournaments as a member of the Diamond Sharks Fast Pitch
Softball Team.
Players will be expected to attend all
practices and tournaments. Play time will be dependent on participation
in practice and attendance. Equal playtime is not guaranteed. All
players will have the opportunity to play in tournaments, assuming they
attend practice and follow the team expectations.
Players will be expected to come to practice
and games well rested, mentally and physically prepared for competition,
and properly equipped to play softball.
Players will be expected to maintain their
equipment and uniforms and be prepared for competition.
Players will be expected to treat others with
respect, maintain good sportsmanlike conduct at all times, and display
pride for their team and teammates.
Parents will be expected to treat others with
respect, ensure their player is well rested, and is mentally and
physically prepared for competition, and will promote good sportsmanlike
behavior for the team.
Each player and her parents will be asked to
sign a Player's Contract as agreement with the Team Expectations.
Any player, or parent, that fails to uphold the
expectations of the team will be dismissed from the Diamond Sharks, and
no refund of fees will be offered.
